ENTSO-E has published the third Probabilistic Risk Assessment Report (PRA), a report that comes out every other year, detailing Europe’s latest progress on integrating probabilistic methods into power system security.

The report shows advances in data collection, impact assessment, and probability-computation testing — strengthening the complementary approach to the established “N-1” security principle.

This work is developed jointly by all TSOs under the Methodology for coordinating operational security analysis (CSAM) framework and reflects growing momentum toward more robust, risk-aware system operation.

About ENTSO-E

ENTSO-E, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, is the association for the cooperation of the European transmission system operators (TSOs).
The 40 member TSOs, representing 36 countries, are responsible for the secure and coordinated operation of Europe’s electricity system, the largest interconnected electrical grid in the world.
