ENTSO-E and EDSO for Smart Grids welcome applications from R&D projects to display their work at the InnoGrid2020+ conference, the not-to be-missed annual event on innovation in electricity networks. This year's conference will address the ‘Network of Networks’ and is scheduled in Brussels on 26-27 June 2017.
Sixteen transmissions system operators (TSOs) are cooperating to create a Core capacity calculation region that will cover most of continental Europe. In this Core region they will adopt common methodologies to calculate and optimise cross-border transmission capacity. This will increase cross-border trade without endangering security of supply. This important move towards an integrated energy market was made possible by the EU network codes - a European code of conduct for the power system that is about to be completed this year with new rules on the Balancing market.
Bernard Energy (BEA); the European Distribution System Operators’ Association for Smart Grids (EDSO for Smart Grids); the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E); the Union of the Electricity Industry - EURELECTRIC (EURELECTRIC) and the Florence School of Regulation (FSR) have the pleasure to announce the launch of the 1st Scholarship Award in Memoriam of Ana Aguado.
Today ENTSO-E releases its recommendations for the cooperation of ENTSO-E with third-country TSOs and is adopted in accordance with Article 8(3)(c) Regulation (EC) No 714 / 2009.
This week the European Technology and Innovation Platform Smart Networks for Energy Transition (ETIP SNET) presents long term key priorities to enable the transition towards a reliable and sustainable European electricity system with very high shares of renewables. Overall the roadmap estimates that 2.5 billion euros investments in Research and Innovation are needed over the next 10 years to help manage Europe’s Energy Transition as a system.
