We are happy to announce that CSA/NC specifications v2.2 are now published in CGMES library. This new release has been mainly focused on covering regional requirements from Capacity Calculation Regions and solving bugs found in v2.1. New version of header and metadata v2.2 and Boundary and reference data specification v1.0 can also be found in CGMES library.

Here below you can find a high level list of changes:

  • Assessed Element Profile Specification v2.2;
    • The profile clarifies the usage of assessed element combinations with remedial actions and contingencies. It also includes new attributes to handle capacity calculation, specially the 70% capacity target as detailed in Clean Energy Package (Internal Electricity Market) art. 16(8).
    • Descriptions of classes, attributes and associations were improved.
  • Availability Schedule Profile Specification v2.2;
    • Better integration with Remedial action profile, so now it is possible to handle cancellation and shortening of outages as remedial actions in an easier way.
  • Contingency Profile Specification v2.2;
    • Descriptions of classes, attributes and associations were improved.
  • CSA Data Exchange Profile Specification v2.2;
    • Some minor clarifications were added into the implementation guide as a new remedial action state status was introduced.
  • Equipment Reliability Profile Specification v2.2;
    • Controllers and FACTS part was enriched with feedback from TSOs and CCRs and usage with Remedial Action profile was improved. SSSC (static synchronous series compensator) including details of its controls was added. HVDC emulation modes and ramping modes were improved. Hydro reservoir and Fuel Storage were added to the Production part. Limits part was enriched with power infeed limits as requested by ROSC.
    • Bug fixing and descriptions improvement.
  • Impact Assessment Matrix Profile Specification v2.2;
    • This profile has been redesigned to cover ROSC needs. It incorporates new impact quantity attributes to measure impacts on conducting equipment elements caused by remedial actions;
  • Metadata and header data exchange specification v2.2;
    • Small modification in the header as two attributes were replaced. In addition, the packaging and metadata for data exchanges was added and will be used for OPDE change requests related to metadata.
  • Monitoring area data exchange Specification v2.2;
    • The monitoring area profile enables the exchange of monitoring area related information like the influence factors. These influence factors allow defining the observability area and external contingency list as detailed by Art 5.5 and Art 6.2 of CSA methodology. For information, the observability area and the external contingency list influence factors are published in the SO GL related deliverables in ENTSO-E webpage, under SO GL Art 75.1
  • Network codes related canonical extensions v2.2;
    • This document was extended with the new classes that are not part of the CIM61970 package and that are needed to properly model the CSA process.
  • Power schedule profile specification v2.2;
    • This profile enables exchanging power schedule information and their time points.
  • Power system project profile specification v2.2;
    • This profile provides metadata around the changes applied to a model and exchanged using difference model exchange.
  • Remedial Action Profile Specification v2.2;
    • New updates related to better handle countertrade and redispatch remedial actions.
    • Dependency and grouping of remedial action was introduced.
  • Remedial Action Schedule Profile Specification v2.2;
    • Updates related to Cost Sharing and better modelling of redispatch and countertrade remedial actions was added to the profile.
  • Security Analysis Result Profile Specification v2.2;
    • This profile was improved to support the exchange of results in active, reactive and apparent power, voltage and voltage angle
    • Descriptions of classes, attributes and associations were improved.
  • Sensitivity Matrix Profile Specification v2.2;
    • Descriptions of classes, attributes and associations were improved.
  • State Instruction Schedule Profile Specification v2.2
    • Profile was renamed from Security Schedule to State Instruction Schedule Profile to avoid SS abbreviation as metadata keyword.
  • Steady State Instruction Profile Specification v2.2
    • New classes that need to handled Market Time Unit information were added to the profile.
