The interoperability test on the CIM market information, with European Transmission System Operators (TSOs), market management system (MMS) and software providers’ participation, was the second test to be carried out on the CIM extension for the electricity market (IEC 62325).

Its purpose was to assess the compliance of the work carried out on the IEC 62325-451-2 versus the business requirements defined by ENTSO-E for the scheduling process.

The objective of the test was to determine whether current ENTSO-E compliant XML instances of scheduling, anomaly and confirmation report can be processed using the XML Schema Definition (XSD) generated by the CIM.

The results of this second IOP test are in line with expectations. The main conclusions of the below corresponding IOP final report, which was approved by ENTSO-E’s Market Committee on 22 January 2013, are:

  • The work carried out on the IEC 62325-301, IEC 62325-351, IEC 62325-451-1 and IEC 62325-451-2 is in line with the business requirements;
  • There is no deficiency in the standard; and
  • The standard versions include all the capabilities needed to support the already implemented exchanges for the acknowledgement and the scheduling business processes implemented within ENTSO-E.
